中文释义: 指用作食品或制造用的天然原料。可分以下各大类:(1)石油和天然气;(2)金属;(3)谷物和油籽;(4)糖、可可、咖啡和茶等软性产品;(5)橡胶、棕榈油、棉花和羊毛等种植园作物。在交易所买卖的初级产品按合约指定的商品数量、质量及交割日报价,通常也以远期、期货和期权合约形式交易。如果在交易所以外买卖,初级产品通常通过个别生产者与使用者之间的直接接触而成交,每一笔交易都是“量身定做”的合约,双方往往会签订长期供应合约。
英文释义: A natural raw material used as a foodstuff or in manufacturing. Classified in the following groups: oil and gas metals; grains and oilseeds; soft commodities such as sugar, cocoa, coffee and tea; plantation crops such as rubber, palmoil, cotton and wool. Exchange-traded commodities are quoted in specific lots of a specific quality for specified delivery, and usually also trade in forward, futures and options contracts. Commodities traded outside organised exchanges usually change hands by direct contact between individual producers and individual end-users. The contracts are tailor-made for each deal and are often signed for a long-term continuing supply.
